The Quetzal Mama Scholars Program launched as a pilot program in 2014.
In 2021, the program is in its 8th year.
Students are interviewed and selected from the following North San Diego public and charter school districts:
San Marcos Unified, Carlsbad Unified, Vista Unified, Oceanside Unified, Fallbrook Unified, and the Charter Districts of Guajome Academy and High Tech High North County.
The Quetzal Mama Scholars curriculum operates as a co-learning environment. Students belong to a team, working together for 12 months in a collaborative and supportive environment.
