Target Audiences

Quetzal Mama tools, methods, and strategies are applicable to anyone interested in college admissions. However, the workshop series is designed specifically for students who are first generation college status, low-income, and historically underrepresented in higher education.

The primary target population for Quetzal Mama workshops include Latino students (and those students historically underrepresented in higher education) attending K-5, middle school, high school, and California Community Colleges.

The secondary target population is parents of K-5, middle school, high school, and community college students. The workshops are tailored for parents of students historically underrepresented in higher education, with little to no prior knowledge concerning college admissions.

Lastly, school administrators, counselling staff, college-going organizations, and others interested in serving Latino students (and those historically underrepresented in higher education) will benefit from a “Train the Trainer” series.
